‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 6: Marlene King talks show’s endgame, possible final season
There has been speculation for ages surrounding just when “Pretty Little Liars” could be wrapping thing up, and there have been almost different answers depending on who you ask. We’ve heard many in production suggest that season 7 is not necessarily the end of the show, while others in the cast have suggested that the next season is likely the last.
So where does creator Marlene King stand on all of this? She and ABC Family (soon to be Freeform) have not announced a firm decision one way or another just yet; however, she did tell the crowd at a PaleyFest panel in New York City (per Deadline) that right now, signs are pointing towards there being one more following this one:
“I think the fans will stay with us for so many more seasons … but I think as a group we’ll make a decision on when it’s time to end, and right now it’s sounding like season 7.”
Given where we are in thestory right now, it does feel like season 7 is the right time to end the show. Granted, we could’ve said the same thing about season 6A, but we do think that there is something rather intriguing about the show coming back five years after the original “A” story to see where every has landed, and also to see whether or not they are still being chased by some particular threats of the past. The show returns on January 12, and in the interim we think we will have some further news to share.
