‘The Flash’ season 2: Grant Gustin talks multiverse, tap-dances on ‘Today’ (video)

Flash -Even though “The Flash” technically premiered on The CW last week, Grant Gustin is now getting a chance to do a little bit of a promotional push when it comes to some of the New York talk shows. He is appearing on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” later today, but this morning he stopped by another NBC property in “Today” for a brief interview.

For diehard fans of the show, there is always a certain element of awkwardness to these interviews. There are only a few minutes available for the conversation, so they pop in, answer a few questions, and then pop out before you can really even catch your breath. Also, there is a good chance that the show hosts really are not that familiar with the source material, which seemed to be very much the case here.

Still, Barry talked in broad strokes about playing a superhero like The Flash, the presence of the multiverse as a key part of the second season, and how some of his own background in dance helps him to remain in good shape even while spending such a great deal of the year filming the show.

This discussion does lead to a very brief but fun moment of Grant doing a little bit of tap-dancing for the hosts. Obviously, he’s great at it.

The next new episode airs on Tuesday night, with one of the key story threads being the arrival of the “original” Flash in Jay Garrick coming to Central City to warn Barry the presence of Zoom, a destroyed of Speedsters who apparently wants most of the power to himself.
