‘Reign’ season 3, episode 2 preview: Trouble lies ahead for Catherine, Elizabeth

Reign -Did you enjoy the season 3 premiere of “Reign” on The CW Friday night? The series introduced more of the English court for a reason, and that is to further show you some of the additional complications that are coming for England, France, and beyond.

“Betrothed” is the title for the next new installment, and the synopsis below shows that specifically, we are going to see Elizabeth face some tough times as a result of her decisions regarding Catherine. She is eventually sent back to France, but there are still plenty of problems awaiting her there. The synopsis teases all of this, and then also at the same time more complications when it comes to Lola and Narcisse:

“Elizabeth (Rachel Skarsten) must deal with the political backlash of harboring Catherine (Megan Follows) in England, while Catherine is imprisoned upon her return to France. Mary (Adelaide Kane) is forced to make some difficult decisions about securing Scotland’s future and Lola (Anna Popplewell) is conflicted in her feelings for Narcisse (Craig Parker).”

The thing that makes the rest of season 3 so interesting now is that we are meant to view it through the lens of what was already announced: Namely, the death of Francis. Anyone who knows history knew that this was going to be coming up eventually, but the question we could still imagine many people having before the announcement was if the show was going to do everything that it could to drag the story out.
