‘Game of Thrones’ season 6 spoilers: Another Red Priestess enters the picture

LogoBased on what we are hearing right now, it certainly seems as though Melisandre is not the only Red Priestess that we are going to be seeing on “Game of Thrones” moving forward into season 6.

According to a report from Deadline, British actress Melanie Liburd (who has appeared on “CSI,” “Strike Back,” and other American series) will be appearing on the show in the aforementioned Priestess role, but that is all that is known for now. Carice van Houten plays the “original” Red Woman within the world of the show, and at the end of season 5 she had to face the harsh reality about how terrible most of her predictions truly were. She told Stannis that the Lord of Light needed a big sacrifice in order to strengthen his army, but instead all killing his daughter Shireen did was inspire great disloyalty among his own army. Eventually, he (seemingly) died at the hands of Brienne, though there are of course some out there who believe that he could still be alive.

Melisandre could herself be significant in some way to bringing back another character who is presumed dead by many in Jon Snow, who was stabbed repeatedly by members of the Night’s Watch at the end of season 5 over the failure of his plan to bring together his people and the Wildings. Everyone has been frantically trying to find Kit Harington, but somehow, Carice has been able to escape the paparazzi’s watchful eye the majority of the time.

“Game of Thrones” season 6 will premiere on HBO come this spring, and just as you would expect, we’ll have some further news soon over at the link here.
