‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 7, episode 1 video: Caroline and Stefan set the stage

Do you find yourselves wondering what the future for Stefan and Caroline is on “The Vampire Diaries”? We do too, and that’s why we are particularly pleased to see the latest sneak peek.

This video is not some sort of definite proof that great things are in store for these two characters, but it is a step in the right direction. While Caroline goes through the healing process of losing her mother and seeing her best friend go away for many years, Stefan agrees that the two should focus on being friends and nothing more … for now.

Obviously, we sense there being a moment on the show sometime soon where that changes. These two are probably the most noteworthy couple with Nina Dobrev gone, and given that the last thing we imagine the producers wanting to do is enrage Delena fans, they could be the only couple for a little while. The show will have some time dealing with the will-they-or-won’t-they of it all, but they may have to come to a decision here sooner than with most other TV pairings thanks to Candice King’s real-life pregnancy. She’s likely be gone for some time on maternity leave, and fans may want a little bit of closure before then.

For now, just rejoice in the fact that these two are on the same page, and the chemistry is definitely still there. We’ll just get a chance to see over the weeks ahead how their chemistry evolves, and if they suddenly decide that they have no other choice mentally other than being a couple again.
