At this point on “The Bastard Executioner,” Wilkin Brattle is becoming more comfortable in his role of wayward executioner. Thanks to that, some other nobles may be starting to become much more comfortable with him.
So where is the tipping point going into Tuesday night’s new episode? For the moment, it is wondering just how close is too close, and when Wilkin’s secret could come back to bite him. He seeks vengeance, but can he get it when the very people he target are also the ones with the most power over him? His relationship with Milus in particular will be one of the focuses of this story, as will the larger Royal empire beyond just Ventrishire. Ever since the events of the pilot, this has been a region in a particular state of flux.
The promo below is certainly our favorite out of any that FX has released to date, mostly for the reason that they actually spend their time focusing on footage from the series rather than what critics are saying. We still don’t think that there is much of a correlation between what people like us are saying about the show and how many people are actually watching.
We will back tonight with a review of this key episode. You have to remember that at the end of tonight, we’re going to be at the midway point of the season … and you have to anticipate that things are only going to build and intensify from here.
