ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8, episode 4 preview: Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion’s story in ‘What Lies Beneath’
Are you a “Castle” fan hoping to see more of Castle and Beckett working together? It’s possible that this will come during “What Lies Beneath” next week. This is a story that will further explore the Castle mythology, and give you a taste of someone he looked up to when he was younger. Unfortunately, it also turns out that this person is dead. The story for this episode will feature in part seeing just what happens when these two work in their own ways to figure out what happened … and we’ll just go ahead and turn now to the synopsis for the rest:
“When Castle’s idol, a famously reclusive author, turns up dead, Castle is determined to solve his hero’s murder. But as he and Beckett dig deeper, they discover that truth is stranger than fiction.”
Will there be some more information to go along with this when it comes to what’s happening with Beckett’s search for answers? We assume so, given that this season in particular has adopted much more of a serialized format. We saw more of Vikram than we were expecting during “PhDead,” and there is no reason to assume that Kate is abandoning the case now given that she is perceiving it as the thing that is keeping her away from Castle.
The sooner that we ultimately see Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic’s characters back together, the more relieved we are probably going to feel. We are down for some good drama, but at the same time, part of what we enjoy about the show is the reliability. The magic is in them working together to take on these crimes. We love them together so much that we have included them in our October feature over at CarterMatt that we have named “Shiptober”! Check our our thoughts (at the link here)on the Castle/Beckett ship that has crossed over 8 seasons and make sure to tell us what you think.

Jan, the writers don’t seem to care about what the fans think.Hawley has mentioned after the initial rant of us fans twitter,he says it all settled down not sure where he is looking. Twitter last night said that Sgt. Slaughter is back oh deja vu are we going to see severed heads again. As of now I stopped watching castle .I may return later but I doubt it since they care nothing about the fan base.

As the current writers are writing Kate she loves the hunt more than Castle. She had a choice. She could have just left it to Rita and Jackson and pretended to be fooled by the person from the AG’s office committing suicide instead of going after another villain likely to get her killed but she chose the rabbit hole over her marriage and her family. Her choice was to put herself in a position where she “had to protect Rick”. Pure BS.

Denyse, I hope it doesn’t take too too long to get them back together.Just remember though that in a interview Stana stated she came back because a new direction would drive this season ,so look at it this way it is all about Beckett again this season and Castle being the wimp the writers and Stana want him to be.

What I am most concerned about is that we are going to be seeing less and less activity regarding the solving of the case of who the new bad guy is and why he wants Beckett and (presumably) Vikram dead. If this happens suddenly everything that has happened this season is of no importance and nothing may ever be done. Kinda reminds me of Castle’s disappearance – two years later and no progress though they say that they will resolve it this year. I wonder if they are trading the resolution of Castle’s disappearance for the resolution of Beckett’s problem. Do they not realize that Castle’s disappearance is what started the massive departure of viewers last season and they may now start the remaining fans flying out the door. I would hope that maybe they will see the light, increase viewers and get great ratings this fall but what have I seen lately that will encourage me that this is going to happen – nothing!!!

If the demo stays at 1.2 it may not be financially feesable for ABC to keep this ship afloat.

Yep, more often than not the writers don’t portray Castle as anything positive. Alexis is the adult in the relationship. They can’t make up their mind if he is scared of the least little thing and a klutz who can’t shoot straight or a courageous man who is an expert shot. Most of the time they go with the least flattering portrayal including having a character whose seen a lot of the real world from the CIA to organized crime be so gullible as to believe every conspiracy theory and superstition out there. Look at how Alexis treated him in XY.

I just saw the preview for Castle episode 4 and he says there is no bigger betrayel than a lie in a marriage , not interested in watching will read your reviews because the writers are really screwing this season up especially if they still keep Beckett lying.

They are making it seem like its going to take either a huge portion or the whole season to get them back together. The writers need to wake up. This is not what the fans want to see. This is just so rediculous. They had to drag out getting them together but wasted no time splitting them up. Just like every other show. I thought the writers for castle were different. Guess not
