TV quick hits: ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,’ ‘iZombie’ get more scripts; Clark Gregg, Hayley Atwell’s ‘Lip Sync Battle’
The CW must really be feeling their new series “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.” After all, they have now officially announced that they are ordering more scripts even before seeing the premiere episode.
Both this series and “iZombie” have been specifically given five more scripts, which could in theory would bring the two shows to 18 episodes of these episodes end up making it to air. We should make it clear here that this is no guarantee that they will. In structuring the order in such a way, what The CW is doing here that is so smart is getting them in a position where if the ratings are good, they already know where the story is heading.
Another reason why they may be wanting to see scripts is to figure out what they want to do in terms of their upcoming schedule. With “Containment,” “Legends of Tomorrow,” and “The 100” all on deck for midseason, they will need to figure out where they want to place them and one show to replace. If they are more confidence creatively about “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” than something else, that may be an indicator of what they decide to do.
“Agents” of Lip-Syncing – Clark Gregg and Hayley Atwell have been front and center for some great Dubsmash battles as of late, so isn’t it perfect that the two would be appearing on Spike TV’s “Lip Sync Battle”? The video below via Entertainment Weekly is proof that the “Agents of SHIELD” and “Agent Carter” stars are getting ready to do battle in a fairly epic manner.
For each star, bonus points should be given if they can bring some of their famous friends on board.
