ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8, episode 3 video: Ryan and Esposito’s undercover fail
How many times have you seen on crime shows over the years characters going undercover who do not even remotely look right for the part? If you have had some of these frustrations over the years, then the sneak peek below for Monday night’s new episode of “Castle” is going to leave you snickering feverishly.
The sneak peek starts off with Ryan and Esposito strolling down the street sporting some new digs, and then talking to each other like they’re a part of the younger generation (i.e. the same sort of people ABC really wants watching this show). Then, when they try to talk to a key suspect on the case, they are called out on their front in about three seconds. Hilarious. Probably the best part of it is Ryan getting insecure about his supposed “ear hair” after the guy walks away.
While these two thought that they probably had this particularly murder case handled, couldn’t they use some help from a particular private investigator? For those of you wondering how Castle will continue to be involved with the NYPD this season despite his new gig, this preview makes it clear: He has some ways he can help them out, and being a best-selling author working at a school is a great way to do that. He has the credentials to be worthy of a short-term teaching gig, and he will be able to monitor some suspects in the process.
For Ryan and Esposito, they should take him up on this in a split-second. Anything that keeps them from having to wear those outfits again.

Show runners have touted this episode as big on Caskett. This peek just shows the guys. Photos are heavy on Alexis in a skimpy costume. Does not look Caskett heavy to me. If this episode and episode 7 are supposed to be Caskett heavy then episodes 4,5,6 and 8 must be Caskett light. Everyone is aware that when Fillion and Katic do their romcom thing on the screen ratings go up. When Katic and Fillion doing their romcom are not featured or nonexistent in 6 out of the 8 first episodes, who do the show runners expect to watch the show?

I’m sorry but I am a senior citizen and couldn’t even muster a giggle. I am old enough to know that you can’t be half your age just by the look and time frame of your clothes. Better luck next time. Furthermore, if this is supposed to one of the highlights of the episode looks like I can go to bed an hour earlier. Rather than waste this hour of air time why don’t you make sensible use of the time showing Becket, Castle and the rest of the gang trying to find out who is behind the attempts on Beckett’s life. This is what makes sense. You don’t dilly dally around when people are trying to kill you.
