NBC continues to win big with ‘Blindspot’ live+3 ratings

Jane -Even though “Blindspot” did suffer a little bit of a slide when it comes to its live ratings for its second week, there is something that it can attest to now as a silver lining: When it comes to DVR measures, it continues to fare extremely well.

In the just-released live+3 data for the NBC show, the show surged from a 2.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic (the one that matters most to advertisers) to a 4.2. This is the largest increase for a show on NBC since an episode of “The Blacklist” last fall in this measure, and it gives them added incentive to keep it around. We know already that the network has ordered nine additional scripts, and we imagine that a full-season order will be coming at some point by the end of the month.

While you can still argue that it is far to early to know whether or not Jaimie Alexander and company will be around for the next five or six years, this is the closest thing to a safe bet NBC has among its new lineup right now. It was the beneficiary of an excellent marketing campaign, with Alexander front and center as one of the biggest rising stars out there. It also happens to come from hit-maker Greg Berlanti, who is a guy who certainly seems to be doing no wrong at the moment when you look at his stable of shows (which includes “The Flash” and also the upcoming “Supergirl” on CBS).

Do we expect the numbers to go down again for episode 3? Probably, but we would be shocked to see it be a huge decrease. It tends to take four or five episodes for a new series to really start to level off.
