‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ video: New opening title sequence is all sorts of creepy, insane
The season premiere of “American Horror Story: Hotel” will be coming up on Wednesday, October 7, and there is one word that we have to describe the opening title sequence that has now been officially released: Insane.
Basically, how to describe this is that there are creepy / terrible things and people living inside of everything from the beds to the walls, and this all looks genuinely freaky in a way that this franchise often has not been in some time. These sequences can be deceptive when it comes to the content of the show, but given the setting here, we do feel like you can really only do so much with it.
One thing that we do find interesting now is that Kathy Bates is starting off the credits, which we like to think is always a great spot to have and is a testament to some of the wonderful work that she has done over the years. Meanwhile, Lady Gaga gets the spot at the very end, which previously belonged to Jessica Lange. While she does not have the resume in acting of Bates or even many of the other cast members, you cannot deny her star power, or that she is one of the primary selling points for this season.
Just has been the case for every season of this show, we are planning to go all-out with some of our coverage. What does this mean? Specifically, we are talking about everything from episode reviews to previews to the glorious return of our show podcast. We’re going to do them on Thursdays this season, and we will come up with a good start time for them in the near future.
