For fans of “Pretty Little Liars,” we have merely scratched the tip of the iceberg of what season 6 is going to give us. In some ways, it feels like it would have been fairly easy for the show to just close up shop after everything that we went through with “A” and Charlotte DiLaurentis. However, the series somewhere along the line decided to go in a different direction, one that would pick up sometime later with a new mystery.
This is what we are going to get with the second part of the season, and filming for many of the show’s cast officially wrapped this week. Now, you are still left to wonder when ABC Family is going to put the show on the air. While in the past early January has been the projected premiere date, what you do have to remember here is that typically, the show has more than ten episodes to air in a back half. They’ve shortened things up at some point both for this season and the upcoming season 7 airing next year.
We are going to repeatedly offer up some utterances of this over the course of the months ahead, it is worthy of mentioning here that there is no guarantee right now that season 7 will be the show’s last. We’ve heard some suggestions that it could be, but we feel like two factors will determine what ultimately happens:
1. Whether or not people are still watching.
2. Whether or not those involved are still interested in doing it.
For the moment, we will say that season 7 feels like time. You don’t want the show to last so long that it leaves with a whimper rather than a bang.
