‘Sleepy Hollow’ season 3, episode 2 preview: First look at ‘Whispers in the Dark’

We don’t want to be one to necessarily overstate something at the moment when it comes to “Sleepy Hollow,” but one episode into the show’s third season and we are starting to have a definitive reaction: We are already enjoying this series much more than we did throughout the second season. There was more humor, more spirit, and a sense of fun that we did not have with much of the Crane drama. We’re going to miss Irving, but we want to make the most of the rest of the show if we can.

This brings us directly to “Whispers in the Dark,” the episode next week that is going to present us with so much more on Pandora, our new mysterious Big Bad who has already shown that she can trap a pretty wide array of things within her enchanted box. The synopsis below, unfortunately, is far from the most revealing in the world:

“When Pandora uses her powers to unleash a new form of evil, Abbie and Crane are forced to face their pasts in unexpected ways.”

What is perhaps a little bit more enlightening is the synopsis below, which gives you a solid sense of some of the stakes for these characters. Not only that, but there’s a fun moment courtesy of Ichabod trying to press Abbie on what sort of past relationship she has with Reynolds, otherwise known as a very important member now of the team.
