‘Supernatural’ season 11 spoilers: Sam, Dean will face further trouble from Rowena

Supernatural -

When you think about the struggles that consistent await Sam and Dean Winchester on “Supernatural,” one thing is almost always crystal-clear: The road to survival is never easy. Just when you think that they have one adversary to fight in the Darkness, you then have to remember that others remain … including a certain woman named Rowena who clearly made her mark on Castiel at the end of season 10.

In speaking to TVLine, executive producer Jeremy Carver set up what the situation for this character will be thanks to everything that is at her disposal:

“We’ll be seeing her in the early parts of the season deciding what she wants to do with this newfound power, and you’ll see what kind of success she has with that … What makes her an enjoyable character is for all of her power, she’s still ruled by a certain amount of hubris.”

In other words, Rowena is still vulnerable, and it is clear that she and Crowley do have much more in common than either one of them would probably want to admit. They are both obsessed at times with getting what they want, and they each have a blindspot (not the Jaimie Alexander kind) for seeing the forest through the trees. They are flawed, and that is a part of what makes them so entertaining to watch.

And yes, it stinks that Sam and Dean cannot seem to ever catch a break. If this show ever ends, we’re looking forward to those two or three minutes in the series finale where it looks like they can actually take a breath without worrying someone is about to stab them (if the show ends on a happy note, that is).
