‘Downton Abbey’ season 6 video: Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael, cast coy on what’s next
We’ve spent some time as of late writing “Downton Abbey” articles from the British point of view, largely because this show has the luxury of airing first in the United Kingdom before crossing the sea and coming on PBS.
However, we are thrilled to be presenting today an article that can be enjoyed by all parties! PBS put out the video below in preparation for the series premiering on January, and it features many cast members (including Michelle Dockery, Hugh Bonneville, Laura Carmichael, and more) teasing some of what could be coming. For example, Dockery says that for Mary, love is a priority … but not like you would think. It is more about Mary learning to love herself.
The video, more than anything, is designed to make you smile. Don’t watch it if you are expecting to learn something serious, since you will be otherwise disappointed.
What we are going to tell you now is that as with many past seasons, change will be a major theme for the final batch of episodes. We’re going to see the characters start to come to terms with the fact that the days of British estates have come and gone, and they need to be aware that society expects something different of them than they once did. Also, you will have more aftermath of the surprising Carson – Mrs. Hughes proposal that took place last season, and also the result (finally) of the Mr. Green story that first started seasons ago.
Note that if you want some other news when it comes to “Downton Abbey” airing on ITV, you can read about that over at the link here. Just be aware that you run the risk of being spoiled.
