‘Ray Donovan’ season 4 spoilers: Is Jon Voight still a part of the show?
There were certainly quite a few surprises over the course of “Ray Donovan’s” season 3 finale on Sunday night. We had Ray coming clean about his past, some characters discovering at least some happiness, and then Terry almost dying. Our feeling is that he is going to get better from here, however difficult that may be.
Now, we do have to wonder for a moment or to about Mickey, who actually got himself out of California at the end of the season. Is it possible that we are going to see Jon Voight as a part of the show anymore? We thought for at least a second that this could be it, but showrunner David Hollander made it clear to TVLine following the episode that the character would indeed be back:
“Absolutely. I laugh only because that’s the easiest part. Mickey always wakes up in a new place, and that place feels permanent until it’s not. Boston. Mexico. North Hollywood. And somehow, some way, whatever he is doing, it’s going to drag him right back into the heart of Donovan land.”
One other thing that you could see is a very vulnerable Ray now following his big confession about his past; in a sense, he is much more emotionally liberated, and in between that and potentially all that has transpired with his father, he may feel a little more free than he has in the past. We’ll just have to see what happens next.
