‘NCIS’ season 13, episode 2 preview: Gibbs gets a makeover, faces more trauma

The first “NCIS” episode of the season aired this past week, and the main focus of that was seeing just how and if Gibbs was going to survive after being shot.

Moving into Tuesday night,s new episode “Personal Day,” we are going to see Mark Harmon’s character returning to work. The twist? Don’t expect this to be the same side of Gibbs that we have seen on the show in the past few years.

The first thing that you are going to see is a fairly obvious physical change. Gone is the jacket and the polo shirt, and in its place is a suit and dress shirt. Meanwhile, Gibbs is also going for a different hairstyle, which is a change from the short cut that he has had more or less since the start of the show. Did he just feel the need to get a little more dressed-up for work? Maybe, but there could be something else going on here.

As a matter of fact, we would say based on the promo below that it is almost a guarantee that Gibbs is still dealing with some trauma after being shot by a child. He is going to struggle with some typical operations, and also clash with Tony and some of the other members of the team.

Ultimately, the thing that you have to remember here is that this is a long season. Maybe Gibbs will start to become his old self again at some point this season, but for the time being, there are really no guarantees of anything.
