MTV’s ‘Awkward’ season 4, episode 5 preview: Gabby spills the truth on Matty to Jenna

Monday night’s episode of “Awkward” is just about on us, and based on what we are seeing at the moment, this is going to be a huge one when it comes to the future of Jenna and Matty as a couple. They’re not romantically intertwined again yet, but could they be in the future?

Let’s just put it this way: Gabby may be willing to, while inebriated, give her some information that could tilt the scales. In the sneak peek below, you can see her tell Jenna something very important when it comes to Matty … but there is the question here of trust. Just how much should Jenna trust someone who is clearly hammered out of her mind in the middle of Tamara’s messed-up engagement party?

Ultimately, the thing that Jenna and Matty need to be doing more than anything else is just coming clean about their feelings. It feels virtually obvious to everyone other than the two of them that they still care about each other, but for some reason pride or anxiety is getting in the way. If they don’t admit to something soon, they run the risk ultimately of losing out on being together for the end of the school year and the last bit of summer before college arrives.

We’ll have some other news related to this episode on Monday night, but on the surface it does feel safe to call this one of the most important ones of the season.
