‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5 spoilers: The meaning of ‘Birth’

While we are just about to get into the first episode of “Once Upon a Time” on ABC Sunday night, that is not stopping us in the slightest from spending some time here talking about what is coming up a little bit further down the road in “Birth.”

As co-creator Adam Horowitz shares in the new post on Twitter below, this is the title for the upcoming eighth episode of the season written by David H. Goodman and Jerome Schwartz. These are two people who the show is clearly comfortable with tackling an important episode; not only have the two penned and produced in some capacity a wide array of installments over the years, but they’ve also written many of them together. They are going to know how to tell a proper story here.

As for the meaning of the title, we imagine that it is going to about either one of two things.

1. The birth of Zelena and Robin Hood’s baby, which is something that has been teased for quite some time. Also, it does complicate the romance of Regina and Robin a great deal.

2. Possibly the birth of something even more sinister from the Dark One / Emma. If this storyline is still going on at this point, don’t you think that this is the time we are starting to reach the zenith? Things are going to get all the more crazy before they calm down, and then progress towards what will be the second half of the season.
