‘Doctor Who’ season 9, episode 3 preview: What ‘Under the Lake’ means for Jenna Coleman, Peter Capaldi

Doctor Who

Tonight, we saw the end of the first two episodes of “Doctor Who” season 9, a story that was all about Daleks, the Doctor facing absolute power, and also handling some more ghosts from his past courtesy of Davros. It was action-packed, scary, and also funny for a few minutes here or there.

Next, we are going to dive into a whole new episode, one that will have spooky vibes a few new twists and turns. “Under the Lake” is the title for this particular installment, and in the event you have not seen the synopsis for this episode just yet, you can do so below:

“When an Underwater Base comes under attack, the Doctor and Clara must save the frightened crew and defeat an impossible threat. But what is behind these terrifying events? And can they really be haunted by ghosts?”

To us, what may be one of the most entertaining things about this particular story is strictly how The Doctor and Clara arrive in their new locale in this episode, and encounter some creatures that could not be more different than the Daleks: Clara’s own desire for adventure. She wants to take part in something grand going into the next episode, which is a thirst that we heard about from Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman before the season started. We are seeing two characters this time around who are bolder and a little more proactive at times to take on these sorts of challenges than ever before.
