‘Longmire’ season 5: Why there is no hurry for renewal announcement
It has been around a week now since we finished watching “Longmire” season 4, and we have to admit that the ending is still very much sticking with us. It was a pretty fantastic season of TV, but one that was capped off with an incredible twist ending that establishes a great cliffhanger for what a season 5 could be. We’re not going to spoil it too much in this article, mostly because we feel like all of our other coverage really discusses that at length.
What we want to discuss here is more of the show’s renewal hopes, and why you better prepared to be patient here for a while to see if Netflix wants to bring the show back. While many diehard fans have already made it through the fourth season without a problem, the reality here is that it has not even been three weeks since it premiered. Not everyone is going to watch an episode a day; some are lucky to get in an episode a week. Netflix measures success using a variety of different measures; they look more than likely at how many people watch a given show, but also any potential spike in subscribers around it. Their strategy is likely somewhat similar to HBO and other subscription services, where they have to look at the buzz that a show is bringing to them just as much as ratings or any other measure.
Therefore, the biggest thing that you can continue to do is tweet to Netflix, write to them on Facebook, and make sure they know you loved the show and this past season. On our end, we’re going to continue to keep the show in the press as much as we can, and we’ll interview anyone on the cast via phone or email who wants to take about their experiences making the show happen.
Given that it was late November last year when season 4 was picked up, that should at least give you a sense that it could be a while. Of course, we’ll give you any news that we can as it breaks.

My hubby & I thought about a month ago that we’d give Longmire a try. We liked what we saw. Needless to say, that with nothing of quality being on, we binged watched. To us, the series just got better & better.
WE WANT MORE!! PLEASE DON’T LEAVE US WITH SOMEONE BREAKING DOWN WALT’S DOOR!! PLEASE DO AT LEAST ONE MORE SEASON TO TIE UP THE LOOSE ENDS!!! Maybe end up putting Nighthorse & Malachi getting what they so richly deserve!!
