NBC’s ‘The Voice’ video: Talking Noah Jackson, Tim Atlas, Hanna Ashbrook’s auditions

VoiceOh, the plight of the montaged contestant on “The Voice.” We certainly feel for some of these people, given that they put in all of the same work on the show as anyone else, but don’t get the benefit of a lot of screen time. Typically, getting montaged does mean that you are not going to last too deep into the competition, but we also don’t want to necessarily paint everyone with that brush. At one point, we’d love it if a montage contestant won the whole season.

For now, what we do want to do is give you a quick taste of three montaged contestants featured in a new video over at NBC. They all ended up being a part of Team Gwen, which we mostly don’t like because we really want to see a female coach finally win and not giving all of her team members some love hurts that.

Noah Jackson – We got a few seconds of his “Elastic Heart,” and it was sweet.

Tim Atlas – Gwen loves the sound of his voice, and we dig both that and the hairdo he’s got going on. Carson Daly describes him as an “indie pop artist,” and that’s mostly all we have to go on.

Hanna Ashbrook – We really dug what we heard here, and Hanna has a voice and look that is distinctive enough that she could go reasonably far in the competition … or at least in a perfect world.

One thing we do wish the show would do is at least post the full blind auditions online. We do understand that this is a TV show, and thanks to that you don’t have time to show everyone without cramming a bunch of stuff in. However, you do still have the footage of all of these contestants! Why not do something more with it? Even if these three don’t go far, they could still benefit from more exposure.
