‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 9 star Kaley Cuoco, Ryan Sweeting reportedly to divorce

While her character of Penny may have married Leonard in the September 21 season premiere of the CBS sitcom, Kaley Cuoco in real life is reportedly set to divorce Ryan Sweeting after 21 months of marriage. According to Us Weekly, the two have separated, and Cuoco has removed mentions of the tennis pro from many of her social-media channels. Meanwhile, Sweeting deleted almost the entirety of his Instagram page, and his Facebook is now set to private. (Yes, we are now in an era where these sorts of things are indicators of news.)

Cuoco and Sweeting first married on New Year’s Eve back in 2013, and she went all-in on celebrating her marriage, and decided to even go by Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting in the opening credits for “The Big Bang Theory.” Obviously, the two parties had every intention of making this work out. There is no report as to why the two are splitting, and it is honestly not something that is really any of our business in the first place.

For us, it’s sad anytime we see a couple go their separate ways, especially one like this where it seemed like there was a lot of love and fun there. Cuoco may be able to bury herself in her work while some of the press around this dies down, given that “The Big Bang Theory” is currently in production. We also have a feeling that releasing this news late on a Friday is a way to have this be old news by the time many organizations get back to work on a Monday.
