Netflix orders twelve new ‘Black Mirror’ episodes, expands series’ global reach
For fans of “Black Mirror,” the following has to be music to your ears. To everyone else, maybe this is a sign that you really should be watching “Black Mirror.” The British science fiction series is the closest thing that we’d say that we have to a modern-day “Twilight Zone,” and is innovative, scientific, smart, and thrilling. It’s a show you really have to watch.
In proving further that Netflix is at the forefront of almost everything awesome these days, we’re not even remotely surprised that they have ordered twelve new episodes of the series, which will be executive-produced by House of Tomorrow’s Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones, the same people who are responsible for making the first seven so excellent. There’s no definitive premiere date for these just yet, but you can see the following statement from Brooker to gauge his overall excitement:
“It’s all very exciting — a whole new bunch of Black Mirror episodes on the most fitting platform imaginable. Netflix connects us with a global audience so that we can create bigger, stranger, more international and diverse stories than before, whilst maintaining that ‘Black Mirror’ feel. I just hope none of these new story ideas come true.”
The great thing about this show in particular is that you really don’t need to worry about watching these episodes all at once; you can do so at your own leisure, and for the most part be fine as a result. This is why Netflix truly is the perfect platform for this perhaps even more so than any other one out there could be. It will give it the right chance to shine, and an opportunity to acquire more fans all around the world at a rate faster than a traditional television network.
