‘Devious Maids’ renewed for season 4 by Lifetime
There is no longer a reason to worry as to whether or not some of your favorite TV maids are going to be coming back for another season: It’s now official!
As first confirmed by Deadline, Lifetime has decided to give “Devious Maids” a fourth season after at least posting solid numbers in season 3. While there were some declines across the board, some of that is expected year-to-year; also, you have to remember / consider here that the network did not have too many choices when it came to what they were going to do in this position. “UnREAL” is the only other scripted series that they have on schedule, and doing a series of “unauthorized” projects about various shows many years removed only has value for so long.
How long can we see this show lasting? At the moment that is certainly a good question, and one we don’t have much in the way of a definitive answer about, either. Our feeling, though, is that this is a show that really should have an inkling of its future before it happens, if for no other reason than that this further ensures that the show gets a proper ending. With the way that season 3 came to a conclusion, we imagine that there would have been people who completely lost it in the event that it was canceled.
Hopefully, one thing we are going to see next year is a bolstered lineup on Lifetime thanks in part to “UnREAL,” which has generated something that few other series on the network have: Critical acclaim from the mainstream media.
