Kenan Thompson, Kel Mitchell reunite for ‘Good Burger’ sketch on ‘The Tonight Show’
We never thought that we would see the day when Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell reunited for something, but we are thrilled to see that it has actually happened!
On last night’s new episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” the two former “Kenan & Kel” stars got back together for the first time in years to take part in what was a recreation of an old “All That” sketch: Good Burger. This later became a feature film, but for the most part the true charm lies back in the original premise, which is just Mitchell’s Ed doing a terrible job fulfilling orders while working at a fast-food place.
Apparently in the time since we last saw him Ed has become a supervisor and Lester Oaks, Construction Worker (Thompson) has continued to be just that. The chemistry between the two is clearly still there, and you can see that especially in a behind-the-scenes video where the two switched out their impressions and do a little bit of goofing off.
As for why this reunion has taken so long, one of the biggest reasons may just be that the two are located on different parts of the country most of the time, and Thompson is a regular cast member on “Saturday Night Live” and has been for over a decade. Meanwhile, Mitchell is now a part of the new series “Game Shakers.” We’re actually somewhat impressed that “The Tonight Show” managed to clear the whole “Good Burger” premise in the first place, given that this is a Nickelodeon property seemingly owned by Viacom, or at least it was back in the day.
