‘The Daily Show with Trevor Noah’ announces Kevin Hart, Chris Christie, more as first guests
We certainly have the utmost sympathy for Trevor Noah right now, given that we have his new version of “The Daily Show” coming on at such a competitive time. Stephen Colbert is still getting headlines on “The Late Show,” the fall season has just started, and to go along with all of this, there are plenty of other headlines coming out from the political world.
So who is going to be Noah’s first guest on September 28? Comedy Central has confirmed that it will be none other than comedian Kevin Hart, which to us is a reasonably surprising choice when you consider for a minute that this show is typically centered around politics. Still, Jon Stewart did have celebrities on from time to time, and the guests over the course of the entire week come from all walks of life: Bumble founder / CEO Whitney Wolfe (Septemer 29), presidential candidate Chris Christie (Sept. 30) and musician Ryan Adams on October 1. There is very little that these people have in common, and that should be a good test of Noah’s skills in the interviewing department.
There’s almost no way that we can compare Trevor to Jon Stewart, mostly because that is one of the most unfair comparisons you could make to anyone. Jon is a legend, and he had over a decade and a half of experience doing this. Noah’s never hosted an American late-night show, and even Jon had a little bit of background at MTV.
We imagine that we’ll have much more on Trevor’s show over the course of the days ahead, and our advice for now is rather simple: Be on the lookout, and visit the link here often.
