‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 17 spoilers: Meet Sgt. Mike Dodds
When we saw the cast photo above for “Law & Order: SVU,” one of the first thoughts that entered our mind was just how small the group felt. Remember that this is a show about a whole squad of crime-fighters, and yet now we are at a point where it has been whittled down to five, and that is including Barba (who is not always a central character) into the mix.
Well, the show be working on some ways to beef up the squad judging from some of the latest news we’re hearing about. According to TV Guide, Broadway veteran Andy Karl is set to recur on the upcoming 17th season as Sgt. Mike Dodds, the son of Peter Gallagher’s character of Deputy Chief William Dodds. He will be the second-in-command to Lieutenant Benson over the coming episodes, and with that in mind play a significant role.
Anytime that you have something mentioned about a character being a descendant of someone else, it only feels inevitable that you are going to ask questions regarding nepotism and the like. Is the present of Dobbs’ son going to make it all the more difficult for Benson to do her job? It is hard to say for certain, but we do at least feel with some confidence that it will complicate things further, and we will end up seeing a whole lot more of Gallagher on the show.
The new season of “SVU” is going to premiere with a two-hour episode starting on Wednesday night at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time.

only if sgt mike dodds gets transfer by Deputy Commissioner Hank Abraham after a few episodes and warren Leight is abled to bring in alot of great actor’s and actresses like Dr. George Huang even if there using Dr. Peter Lindstrom , Alana de la Garza, Stephanie March , Pablo Schreiber since he is a great actor , Dean Winters, Lieutenant Ed Tucker which they will probably most likely bring him in 100% anyway. then Andre Braugher. Cathy Moriarty.Lola Glaudini, and basic several episode’s on true events like when Christopher Meoni departed . bring in another Sgt like i said before Lola Glaudini , Macaulay Culkin he is another great actor and its never been done before

Another salary cutting decision by NBC and SVU. Out goes Danny Pino, in comes another cheap salary. We’ll see how many episodes this guy is in. He should be in a bunch, since Kelli Giddish will probably miss at least 4 episodes or more when she has her baby. Peter Scanavino and ICE-T may also each miss a week or two when their wives have babies. Since this is Warren Leight’s last season as show runner, I expect to see a lot of episodes jumping the shark. Will SVU do well enough to be renewed for a season 18? Will Mariska want too much money for a season 18? Can NBC afford not to renew the show, even if it doesn’t do well versus Empire and Criminal Minds? Stay Tuned.
