‘NCIS’ season 13 premiere video: Jon Cryer, Pauley Perrette, more speak on Dr. Taft

CryerIt’s not often that CBS is as kind with their preview-sharing as they are leading into Tuesday night’s “NCIS” premiere. Then again, it is not often that you get a guest-star of the caliber of Jon Cryer aboard, either.

For the most part, we feel like much of the appeal of getting Cryer aboard the show is that he is someone who is relishing the opportunity to do something different. For many years, he was Alan Harper on “Two and a Half Men,” a guy who, while trained as a chiropractor, really didn’t do much of anything by the end of the show other than mooch off of Walden. Here, Dr. Taft is a famed surgeon who is going to do his part aboard a Navy vessel to save the life of Agent Gibbs.

Will he be successful in his attempts? The answer there has already been confirmed to be “yes” thanks to various interviews, but just because Gibbs makes it through do not necessarily guarantee that he is going to come out of this in anywhere near the shape that he would need to be in order to properly run the team like he used to.

In addition to Cryer, the video below features Pauley Perrette and Brian Dietzen working to answer one key question: Would they want to have Dr. Taft be responsible for saving their lives? He’s certainly knowledgeable in his craft, but as Cryer jokes, there’s a pretty specific reason why he wouldn’t want to see someone like himself conducting the surgery.
