‘Minority Report’ episode 2 preview: What’s up next for Dash and Vega?
Tonight, Fox decided to unlock what is really their first phase in what seems to be a far-reaching plan for them to give you as many different remakes / revivals as humanly possible. This time around, the show we are looking at is “Minority Report,” which premiered on Monday with promises to bring out a wide array of different stories at least inspired by the Tom Cruise feature film.
What the show is doing well already is giving you relentless storytelling and cool sci-fi effects, but what it needs to do is find a big audience and find it quickly. We know very well at this point that genre shows on Fox often lose their following well before they should, and they start to get good right around the time that they are in danger of going away. “Fringe” only survived because it was on Friday nights; meanwhile, “Almost Human” did not survive at all.
The next episode is entitled “Mr. Nice Guy,” and while Fox is being surprisingly limited in giving you details about what is coming up, the synopsis below offers a small inkling:
“Dash and Vega team up again to find a killer who is currently down on love. Meanwhile, Dash continues to reach out to his siblings for help.”
The promo is more effective, and we feel like between the two, we’re getting a good sense that at least in the early going, this show is going to implement some procedural elements heavily. That should not ultimately be much of an indictment on the show itself, though, given that we’ve seen shows like “Gotham” and “Arrow” start this way, only to change things up later.
