‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 7, episode 2 preview: Deeks’ mom and more in ‘Citadel’

NCISThe premiere episode of “NCIS: Los Angeles” served a variety of purposes, with one of the biggest ones being figuring out a way to get Callen back into the fold. Given some of what he did, that proved to not be an easy task. He started to come around at the end of the episode, but we get the feeling here that there is still quite a bit of work to be done.

While we are still interested in seeing some more of what happens with Callen, the show is moving into a different direction and subject next week with “Citadel,” which we are assuming is neither about the Citadel the academic institution or the Citadel from “Mass Effect.” The synopsis below at least gives you some details on what to expect:

“DEA agent Talia Del Campo (Mercedes Mason) turns to the NCIS: Los Angeles team for help after her partner is murdered. Also, after Kensi grows suspicious that Deeks is hiding something, he surprises her by introducing her to his mother (Pamela Reed).”

The story for Deeks and Kensi is going to be an interesting to watch for most of the season, largely because of the fact that these are two people who, despite their crazy job, have a relationship that is otherwise normal. They will therefore have normal problems that they have to deal with, and questions surrounding Deeks’ mom are going to come with the territory. Hopefully, we are going to see Eric Christian Olsen’s character do his part to help put her at ease.
