‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ spoilers: Denis O’Hare on season’s scare tactics

AHSWhile many shows are starting up for the fall this week, you do have to wait a little longer to see “American Horror Story: Hotel” get things going on October 7. Hopefully, the likely deluge of information about it over the course of the next couple of days is going to be enough to you occupied and satisfied until we get around to that point.

One of the big themes that we have seen discussed in various places over the past few days is strictly the terror of it all; specifically, we are talking here in terms of just how frightening the story is going to be. While the show does have “horror” in the title, we would argue that the last time that we were genuinely spooked by anything that we saw on the show was back during the second season of the show. This could be changing when we enter the Hotel Cortez. We’ve heard this in a variety of different forms / interviews already, and this is something that star Denis O’Hare reiterates in a chat with TVLine:

“The theme is different, but also the feeling on the set is different … But I think it’s going to be really scary. It feels like Season 1 in many ways … and I think it’s because we’re back in LA. You can’t help it!”

For those who have not heard yet, O’Hare’s character this season is a bar owner who happens to go by the name of “Liz Taylor.” He has always played some of the most out-there people on this show, and we certainly imagine that this year will be exception.
