‘Arrow’ season 4 spoilers: The title for James Bamford’s directorial debut is…
Over the course of the past several weeks, there has certainly been at least a certain degree of hype surrounding the directorial debut of “Arrow’s” master stunt coordinator James Bamford. This is a man known for some pretty awesome action pieces, and we have to assume that the show would choose to give him an episode that would really use these to the fullest.
While we cannot tell you too much just yet about the content of the episode, we can at least tell you (per executive producer Marc Guggenheim’s Twitter account) that the title is “Brotherhood,” and it is the seventh episode of this season.
If we had a personal preference at the moment, it would be for this story to be about the relationship between Andy and John Diggle, told mostly through flashbacks, as we start to see Diggle get closer to infiltrating HIVE and get some of the true revenge for what happened to his brother. That is one of the great things about having Damien Darhk and this organization at the center of this season; typically, you have Big Bads who are mostly significant thanks to Oliver Queen, but this one actually has more personal significance towards him. If you’ve got an actor who is as good as David Ramsey, why not take advantage of that?
Hopefully, we could also see some parallels here with Diggle and his brother-in-arms in Oliver. When season 4 begins, these two are not going to be in a good place; as a matter of fact, John will be against him joining the team again. Sure, in part we imagine his rage being over how Oliver was willing to use Lyla has bait, but we personally feel like there is much more than this at stake. We’re talking specifically about the distrust that may have been formed by entrusting a plan to Malcolm Merlyn, someone who really nobody should ever trust, over a longtime confidante like himself.
