‘Outlander’ season 2: On premiere date speculation, casting chatter, more

Outlander -Yet again, here we are stuck in the middle of another Droughtlander, but we are happy to at least bring some more casual chatter regarding “Outlander” season 2 from someone who clearly knows this show better than just about anyone out there: Executive producer Ronald D. Moore.

Early this past week, Moore did a brief Q&A with fans on Twitter and answered a wide array of different questions. Of course, some he has to keep under wraps for the sake of making the show a surprise. However, there are a few others that he was at least able to talk / speculate about a little bit.

1. Right now, Moore feels like season 2 will premiere in either March or April, which is what we’ve thought and have speculated about for some time. However, it was never entirely confirmed that this was for sure happening, and to an extent it’s still not. Starz can ultimately do whatever they want with the show, but we find it optimistic that this is when the executive producer believes that it will be out.

2. Moore also feels optimistic about a season 3 renewal, but there is no official word on it yet. We are about 95% sure that one will be handed down before season 2 premieres; Starz has a tendency to give out early renewals, and this show has a long production cycle.

3. Brianna has not been cast just yet, but we imagine she will be soon.

4. Moore also said that the transition to Paris is almost “creating a whole new show,” which makes sense when you think about all of the different things that have to be introduced and characters who are entering the picture.
