‘Girl Meets World’ season 2, episode 17 preview: ‘Girl Meets Rileytown’ and potential insecurity

Girl Meets World -

Season 2 of “Girl Meets World” is currently in the midst of a run of new episodes, and as of late one of the biggest themes has been dealing with the feeling that for one reason or another, you are not “good enough.” This is the sort of thing that many young people struggle with, especially when you see so many other people doing great things or getting attention. Ultimately, you are around so many other people that you have a lot of other people to compare yourself to.

Tonight, “Girl Meets Cory and Topanga” is going to feature Riley Matthews questioning whether or not she will ever be as great for the world as her parents. Maybe she will find some solace at the end of the episode, but it won’t last for long. This brings us ultimately to “Girl Meets Rileytown,” which is going to be the next episode of the show airing in a week’s time. As the synopsis below indicates, it could actually be Maya that leads to Riley struggling more with some self-doubt:

“After Maya hurts Riley’s feelings, the group learns that Riley is overly sensitive because another classmate is making fun of her. Riley’s friends encourage her to like herself for who she is.”

Superficially, one of the other things we find interesting about this episode right now is that this is the first installment in a while where we haven’t seen it hyped as some sort of enormous event episode … though maybe there may be something about the story that we do not know just yet.
