NBC’s ‘The Voice’ preview: Meet Barrett Baber, more than just a high school teacher
NBC has finally unveiled their first extended preview of a contestant from the upcoming ninth season of “The Voice,” and we have to be honest here when we say isn’t it about time? This really feels like something that they should have done a while ago, since it has really been all about the coaches this time around in the marketing push … which is pretty strange when you consider that this is the same group of coaches that we had on the show last fall.
The video that we have for you below is of Barrett Baber, a man who is apparently a high-school teacher trying to improve that he is also an incredibly country singer. He’s an interesting choice for the show to feature in this way in advance for a few reasons:
1. He’s already going to get a ton of votes without the extra hype just for his job. Everyone loves the humble teacher!
2. He’s already going to get a ton of votes for being a country singer.
3. He’s going to get a ton of votes for being on Team Blake … we’re assuming. We don’t actually know, but can you really name more than just one or two country singers over the years who haven’t chosen Blake, provided that he turned around for them? All country singers know that he is the guy with the connections, and they would be taking a huge risk to spend time with anyone else.
Check out Baber’s performance yourself below. He is rather good, and of course he gets every coach to turn around. We haven’t heard anyone else yet, so we cannot really compare him to other potential artists.
