‘American Crime Story: The People v. OJ Simpson’ to premiere in February; watch first teaser
We’ve known for a long time that “American Crime Story: The People v. OJ Simpson” is an ambitious series coming to FX. However, what was not entirely clear until now was when the show was actually going to be coming on the air. Luckily, we’re pleased to have some sort of answer now.
The first teaser video below reveals some of the cast (including Sarah Paulson as Marcia Clark and Cuba Gooding Jr. as OJ Simpson), and also a February premiere date to go along with it. While there were no further specifics given, we’re not too shocked by the start date. FX needs to fill some holes in their winter schedule, primarily the one vacated by “Justified,” which was solid there for more than half a decade.
Are we confident that this for sure will be a hit? Not particular, since true stories are sometimes hit-or-miss. What this one has going for it is Ryan Murphy as an executive producer, and he has crafted many a hit show to date. Not only that, but you’ve also got to go along with that one of the most famous true-crime stories of all time. There was a period where you could not go anywhere without hearing a thing or two about the OJ Simpson trial, and the show will probably paint a perfect picture of what some of that hysteria was like.
For those wondering, Paulson has spent some time doing double-duty working on both this show and “American Horror Story,” which is filming currently its fifth season to release in October. If you have not seen the first trailer for that yet, you can do so over here.
