‘The Flash’ season 2 spoilers: See Atom-Smasher, Barry’s celebration in new premiere photos!
The season 2 premiere of “The Flash” will be upon us come Tuesday, October 6, but The CW has went ahead and given us some further verification on a pair of important things, including whether or not we were going to see Atom-Smasher turn up in this particular episode.
We knew that the DC Comics sometimes-villain would be surfacing at some point in an early episode, but it was not official until now that it would be here. He’s going to be in full-on baddie mode here, but there are still important questions worth asking here … starting with whether or not someone sent the Atom-Smasher (played by WWE’s Adam Copeland) to destroy Central City.
The bummer for Barry Allen / The Flash is that while this would have stunk regardless for him, the attack comes right in the middle of a celebration of the hero’s efforts to help the city. We feel like this is a really fun party to witness, if for no other reason than that it is something we don’t often see on other shows out there. “The Flash” is not afraid to visit the lighter moments, and if there is anyone worthy of this sort of adoration, it is Barry at the moment.
Also in this premiere, get ready to see the return of Harrison Wells … though why and how he is back are going to remain a mystery for at least a little while longer. His status is for the time being one giant question mark. We’re just glad we get to see more Tom Cavanagh.
