‘The Originals’ season 3 spoilers: Expect ‘quite a lot’ of Claire Holt in early going
While we knew that Claire Holt was going to be returning to “The Originals” in the early going this season as Rebekah, what was not confirmed until now was whether or not she was going to be just a one-and-done guest star. We know that the producers would like to have as much from her as possible, and it seems that they are going to have her for at least a few installments this fall!
As executive producer Julie Plec explains in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Holt’s Rebekeah is very much involved in the flashback story, which takes us back to the first ten years of the Original Family as vampires and also the introduction of the Trinity, three characters played by Rebecca Breeds, Oliver Ackland, and Andrew Lees who will very important to the story moving forward. Here is what Plec specifically had to say:
“We’ll actually be seeing quite a lot of Claire in the beginning of the season in flashbacks. We’ll see which of the three she sired and how that all went down and then we will come find [Rebekah] in present day, where she realizes she’s in as much danger from the other sire lines as her brothers are.”
Holt originally departed the show as a regular during the first season, but did make some assorted appearances throughout the second season. Whether or not she ever becomes a more permanent fixture of the show again is largely dependent on both if she wants to, and also if there is a way to make her return in her original body make sense.
