‘Talking Dead,’ ‘@midnight’ host Chris Hardwick engaged to Lydia Hearst!
In a post on Instagram after picking up an Emmy Award for “@midnight” (one of the many other projects the Nerdist founder has in his portfolio), Hardwick confirmed on Twitter that he and girlfriend Lydia Hearst are now officially engaged. He posted a touching message about the ring, which once belonged to Lydia’s grandmother Catherine Hearst and her mother Patty Hearst before it was eventually given to him with the family’s blessing.
Meanwhile, Lydia also posted a stunning photo of the couple on her own account along with her own message. The two made their first public appearance as a couple at the GQ Men of the Year party last December, and have sense documented some of their relationship on social media.
Mass congratulations to the pair! It is definitely a glorious occasion to celebrate, even if things will contain to be very busy for the pair moving forward. “@midnight” is currently in a run of new episodes on Comedy Central, and we have to believe that both Hardwick’s engagement and also the show’s Emmy win will be subjects of conversation on Monday’s show. This show is preparing for a revamped lineup on the network with Trevor Noah starting up his gig on “The Daily Show” September 28. Meanwhile, “Talking Dead” will continue to air after every episode of “The Walking Dead” season 6 starting with the premiere October 11.
