‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 3 spoilers: What could slow down Secret Warriors’ formation

There are a variety of reasons to be excited about the upcoming third season of Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD,” but one of the biggest ones is the simple opportunity to see a little bit more about a certain group in the Secret Warriors! They are going to be a huge part of the show at some point, but as we’ve said before, the plan for now is to have this be a slow burn.

So why not get into this right away, given how many people want to see Daisy Johnson out there kicking butt and taking names? As executive producer Jed Whedon makes it clear to Entertainment Weekly, there are a variety of other things that really need to get done before the organization can get where it is to properly operate:

“[While] there is a desire to put a team together like that, there are so many complications and so many aspects to it that make it difficult that it will not be up and running right away. It’s something that’s a long-term goal of Coulson’s [Clark Gregg], but right now they’re in such emergency mode and there are so many things standing in their way. They need a solution to this problem that they don’t have yet. We’ll see that that desire to fill it is potentially a problem too because they don’t want to rush into things, so it will be a slow burn.”

We feel like the only way that waiting for so long to see the Secret Warriors would be terrible is if there was such an extraordinary wait, and then they come in with a whimper and really are not as awesome as anyone hopes. If the show is going to go in this direction, it really better live up to the hype and blow us away.
