‘The X Factor’ UK preview: The return of Rumour Has It

Rumour Has It is more than just a song by Adele that got a ton of play around the world; it’s also a girl-group who is making their triumphant return to “The X Factor” this weekend!

While we’ve seen contestants return to the show before, what we like about these three in particular is their story. They were put together as a group for the six-chair challenge last season, but did not make it through to judges’ houses. They’ve underwent some changes in the roster since, and are now a three-piece who has spent the past year working together and trying to get better. It’s a cool sort of commitment you usually don’t see from groups who are formed on the show.

Now, the big question in the long-term for these ladies is just whether or not they’ve got the tools necessarily to make it all the way to the end of the show and win … and we’re at least reasonably optimistic that they at least are worthy of making judges’ houses this year. They have very good harmonies, and while we feel like they need a little more of a livelier song here to show off their personalities, we can feel that there is potential here.

We’re always fine with returning contestants in the event that they bring something new to the table, and in this case, we do feel like this group has learned something and are ready to bring it to the show in a big way.
