‘America’s Got Talent’ results preview: Will Piff the Magic Dragon, Gary Vider, Sharon Irving advance?

AGTTonight is the last “America’s Got Talent” results show before the finale, and the last time that the Dunkin’ Save is really going to be relevant in determining who gets a chance to move forward. This should be a fun show, even if we do feel this time like there are at least a few locks to advance, and not as much competition as to who will get the final spot.

Let’s start here with who we consider to be locks. Paul Zerdin not only closed the show, but did one of the funniest things we’ve seen with turning Howie Mandel into a living ventriloquist dummy. He took advantage of the judges in a way that nobody else on the show has, and it’s genius. It’s mostly the fault of other acts for not thinking of this sooner.

Meanwhile, we’re also feeling really good about Piff the Magic Dragon and the Professional Regurgitator. This has been a really good year for magic, and both of these acts work because they contain some magic elements, but also something completely different. For one of them, it’s humor; meanwhile, for the other it’s something that is really tough to describe.

Now, let’s get to the acts who we think are sitting firmly on the bubble: Sharon Irving, Gary Vider, and Daniella Mass. Two of them will move forward, and it’s hard to know just how excited America is going to be about the singers. Even Benton Blount, who we’ve seen a ton of social support for, needed the Dunkin’ Save to advance.

On the outside looking in are Freelusion and even a possible sympathy vote for Uzeyer; we could see one of them moving forward, but it’s a little more of a longshot.

Unfortunately, we don’t have much hope for the other acts. Performing early in the show may be a kiss of death for 3 Shades of Blue, Alondra Santos, and Alicia Michilli. They should just be happy that they were able to make it this far.
