‘Call the Midwife’ season 5 star Helen George will compete on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’
Admittedly, we’re not a regular viewer of “Strictly Come Dancing,” largely thanks to being an American writer who already takes on “Dancing with the Stars.” One thing that probably is a little more lost on us is just how popular this series truly is on the BBC. Its ratings in terms of total viewers are not that far off of “Dancing” in America, and then you just have to add to this the fact that this show is appealing to a much smaller overall pool of viewers. Therefore, “Strictly” is much more of a sensation.
We knew some time ago that there were rumors surrounding whether or not a “Call the Midwife” star would take part, and we were somewhat doubtful at the time that it would be Helen George. Luckily, we’re happy to be proven wrong! As you can see in the trailer below (or really on the show itself at this point), she is a part of the new season!
As far as how she will fare, we have to assume fairly well. We’re really not familiar with any of the other cast members this season, and she is a star of one of the highest-rated primetime series out there. If her personality is anywhere close to Trixie (at least before all the drinking broke out on the fourth season), she could attract new fans to go along with her established base.
While we may not go in-depth with every little thing over the course of this season, we will at least track George’s progress along the way for all “Call the Midwife” fans out there.
