‘Mistresses’ season 4 spoilers: What trouble could come up for Joss and Harry?

It is a little strange at the moment to speak at length about Joss and Harry on “Mistresses,” or really anyone’s future on the show for that matter. ABC has not renewed the series for a fourth season, and there is really not any indicator that this is coming in the near future. The show is completely in toss-up territory.

For a moment, though, we will indulge the speculation talk just because it is fun, and also just because we really haven’t seen a happy ending for Joss and Harry just yet. His career is taking off courtesy of a new food / travel show he gets to be a part of, and that’s exciting! However, there is also some ambiguity in terms of what the long-term implications of this could be. Is it possible that the two could struggle due to fame? This is something that executive producer K.J. Steinberg commented on in a chat with TVLine:

“The reality show aspect will give Harry a chance to have a real evolution from someone who doesn’t understand this invasion [of privacy] to someone who either embraces it or implodes because of it … Instead of putting a woman in the way of Harry and Joss, we could explore what happens if the public eye gets in the way.”

We do think that the show would like to give these two some sort of happy ending, mostly because it feels like this is what we’ve been building to for so long. Otherwise, why have all of the back-and-forth? It would be an adjustment, but they could make it work.
