‘Big Brother 17’ exclusive: Meg Maley on being evicted over Julia, Steve’s game
Meg Maley was at the center Thursday night of one of the most depressing “Big Brother” double-eviction shows in recent years. We know that there is an argument to be made that Steve and Johnny Mac made the right move for themselves (at least in the short-term) in keeping Julia over her, but that doesn’t make it any less of a bummer. Meg and James were two of the most-likable people in the game, and produced some really great moments on the live feeds. We also feel like part of what made it so entertaining is that they were people from completely different backgrounds who found themselves completely alone in the game.
We had a chance to ask Meg a few questions overnight about her game; note of course that we could not say anything that would ruin the outcome of the season, as she is still a part of the jury.
CarterMatt – Prior to Vanessa winning Head of Household this week, how confident were you in your long-term game?
Meg Maley – With the numbers dwindling down, you’re never confident in your long term game. At this point, everyone’s a target.
Are you surprised that nobody wanted to take a shot at separating the twins with Julia on the block?
I’m not surprised because of who was left to vote in the house. There are obviously close personal ties between some of these people and I felt that James and I were on the outside of their team.
Over the past few days, do you think that there is anything more you could have done to sway the vote?
With the numbers dwindling down, I knew my fate would be sealed with who Vanessa decides to put up as a replacement nominee. When you’re in a house with two sisters and lovers, there’s not much strategy that can come between personal obligations when voting. I offered everything I could to Vanessa to change her mind about her potential decision but she already knew what she was going to do.
Looking back over the season, was there one moment (other than this past week) where you felt the most betrayed by other people in the house?
The week Jason was backdoored was the biggest blindside by far. Jason of all people deserved to be in the house and wanted it more than anyone. He wasn’t even given the chance to fight.
Overall, who do you think is the most dangerous person remaining in the game?
Steve. I think he’s the most dangerous because he’s not only playing his own game, he’s doing the dirty work of other players in the house. We all saw in the first double eviction, you never know what to expect from someone who seems so naïve. You can’t help but make the Ian Terry comparison and yet, he’s still in the house.

We’re hoping to have our interview questions from James back shortly, but for now head over here to get some “Big Brother” live feed updates! Also, you can sign up here to get some more TV news on all we cover via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: CBS.)

Meg is nice and pretty and all but she was not a gamer which is why it was a waste of an eviction though I understood why the HGs did it. She also seems to have an entitlement issue when it comes to being in the house.
“Jason of all people deserved to be in the house and wanted it more than anyone. ”
No, that is not how this game works and even Jason knew the game as he claimed to he would know that. You don’t go out of your way to make enemies in the house if your goal is to stay. He obviously did not want it more than anyone else. Also, again, with Meg’s sense of entitlement for herself and her friends who she likely thinks are the ‘good guys’ fighting the ‘bad guys’.
Good interviews under the circumstances. :)
