‘The X Factor’ UK preview: Will Ché Chesterman prove to be a winner?
We’ll be honest: A big part of the charm of Ché Chesterman on “The X Factor” this weekend is that he’s really not the sort of person you would expect to be up on stage performing “Who You Are” by Jessie J. He’s an 18-year old who was working previously at a store, and now he has a chance to go pretty far in the competition.
What’s great about this guy is that he can really sing. You can hear traces of his range in here, and that he could do a really great array of vocal tricks that almost anyone out there would be jealous of. He has all of the tools necessary to go really far in this competition, at least if things continue to go the right way for him.
Here is the one thing we’re really concerned about with him: Confidence. He doesn’t seem like he has that much experience performing on stage, and he’s not moving around like a superstar. This is a guy who is going to need a lot of work to be in a position where he could compete in the live shows. He’s going to need to find a mentor who not only understand this, but is willing to work with him to overcome some of these issues.
We’re going to have some other news about him and everyone else auditioning for the show soon enough, so be on the lookout! Our review will be up tomorrow afternoon on the site.
