‘The Walking Dead’ season 6 spoilers: Danai Gurira talks unpredicability of what lies ahead

Michonne -

We are five seasons into “The Walking Dead,” and so far there have not exactly been too many constants. For example, the only thing on the series that has really stayed the same so far has been the presence of a few characters, and then walkers at just about every turn. Flux has been the name of the game. There is a constant sense of chaos, and one of the many challenges with this series is trying to figure out just how you prepare to handle most of that.

You of course would believe that there will be even more terrible things coming, and based on what star Danai Gurira had to say on the matter to Entertainment Weekly, some of how this stuff hits will surprise you:

“It’s going to be very powerful and beautiful at the same time … It’s going to go into so many different components of very intense and then very rich in human moments as well, but like a deeply different roller coaster from last year. It’s definitely a roller coaster. The pace constantly changes up in terms of who you’re watching, what you’re watching, and where. But at the same time, it’s so unpredictable and so unique from anything we’ve ever done before. It’s just really, really amazing to read the scripts, and to do them has been really, really exciting.”

For the most part, you could substitute much of what Gurira says in here onto any season, since they’ve all been a roller coaster in their own way. Yet, there is one word in particular that we find surprising here, and this is “beautiful.” That is such a poetic way of describing the show, which is often so garish and gory. Seeing how that translates well over to the show will be worthwhile to see.
