‘Chicago PD’ season 2, episode 12 review: Did Lindsay leave the task force?

Are you a fan of the Lindsay/task force storyline on “Chicago PD”? If you are then tonight’s episode may be a bit of a let down. On the other hand if you are already over it, then tonight you may be doing the happy dance in your living rooms like we are. There will of course be a story of the week in tonight’s episode, but there will be a lot of movement on the task force, Lindsay’s future and her relationship with Halstead.

We all knew that Lindsay being a permanent fixture on this task force was not going to be in the show’s best interest since the chemistry Lindsay has with the team is so much more entertaining to watch, but we really didn’t expect her to be gone from the task force in just a few short episodes. It didn’t make a lot of sense to build up this storyline the way they did to then have her quit so quickly. Why did they ask her to come over to the task force if they were just going to be sexist towards her and give her nothing to do? While we are happy that she decided to leave, this storyline was a bit of a let down.

With Lindsay being on the task force it allowed her to explore her relationship with Halstead, but now that she’s left the task force and will be headed back to Voight’s team can they continue their romance? We all know how Voight feels about romance in the work place and with Lindsay’s relationship with Voight being so tight, we could see her bailing on Halstead fairly quickly after her return.

We are happy that the task force storyline is over, but love that it is going to effect her relationship with Halstead. Things have never been easy for Lindsay, so why should they start to be now? That is one of the many reasons we love this character – her struggles are real and relateable. Episode grade: A-
