‘Madam Secretary’ season 2 spoilers: Eric Stoltz to play Elizabeth’s brother

The second season of “Madam Secretary” is currently in production for its October 4 premiere, and the show is really doing what it can at the moment to add to its roster of guest stars.

According to a report today from Entertainment Weekly, Eric Stoltz is going to be recurring on the second season in the role of Peter, brother to Elizabeth McCord (Tea Leoni) and someone with a history of making big moves and having adventures. The two have a complicated history, and that may come to light on more than one occasion.

There are a couple of different reasons why this casting is so interesting, started of course with Stoltz’s talent. Just that alone makes him a worthy addition to the show, and someone fans should really want to see more of over the course of the season.

Also, you can add to this one other thing that is very fascinating: Stoltz is a co-executive producer on the show, which means that he has a serious investment in doing what he can to make it into a success. He is not the first person behind the scenes to agree to appear on the second season; Oscar-winner Morgan Freeman has already agreed to step up and appear in the premiere episode. (Freeman is an executive producer on a project.)

We’ll have some more news on the future of “Madam Secretary” as time passes. Who knows? Maybe the entire producer roster will appear on camera at some point. (We’re joking, but it would be fun.)
